Opaque Acrylic
Characteristics & Finish:
Solid opaque colour that’s the same on the front, back and sides.
It’s highly glossy on one side and matte on the other side. Approx 3mm thick.
Engraving:
Engraves well, picking up fine detail.
We engrave on the glossy side as the protective paper adheres better to that side, and paint filling works much better on gloss than matte & is less likely to bleed beyond the engraved grooves. If using a paint pen, do so before removing the protective tape to prevent spillage.
Best uses:
A great choice if you want an acrylic with both a gloss and matte side. Great for all our shapes and can be used as studs and dangles without a issue.
Excellent for earring stands, using the matte side as the front, so it’s easier to take pics with less reflections than gloss.
Ideal for creating blanks for mould making. Use matte side for matte mould finish and glossy side for a glossy mould finish. Darker colours are preferable as fibres and dust are easier to see and remove before pouring silicone.
Tips:
Avoid marks, scratches & microfibres by only peeling the protective layer off at the end of the earring making process.

Glitter Acrylic
Characteristics & Finish:
A sparkling glitter filled acrylic that look generally the same on the back and front. Small circular glitter pieces are set generously throughout the acrylic to avoid clear spaces. The quantity of dispersed glitter may vary in some colours, resulting in some sheets being partially translucent or semi-opaque. Glitter typically visible on the edges. Approx 3mm thick.
Engraving:
Engraving will have a frosted appearance so looks most effective on darker colours where it has the most contrast. If using a paint pen to colour engraved areas on lighter colours to make them more visible, do so before removing the protective tape to prevent spillage.
Best uses:
Striking acrylic for a feature stud or dangle piece, especially when paired with a simple solid coloured acrylic.
Tips:
There’s a lot going on visually with this acrylic, so thin engraved lines tend not to stand out as effectively as they would on more plain opaque acrylic colours. Avoid marks, scratches & microfibres by only peeling protective layer off at the end of the earring making process

Crystal Acrylic
Characteristics & Finish:
A shimmering shard glitter filled acrylic with an iridescent sparkle. The glitter sits near the bottom of the acrylic sheet, so the edges of this acrylic appear clear and plain rather than glittery.
Approx 3mm thick.
Engraving:
Engraves well, picking up fine detail. Engraving will have a frosted appearance, so looks most effective on darker colours where it has the most contrast. If using a paint pen to colour engraved areas on lighter colours to make them more visible, do so before removing the protective tape to prevent spillage.
Best uses:
Excellent acrylic for a feature stud or dangle piece, especially when paired with a plain solid coloured acrylic.
Tips:

Frosted acrylic
Characteristics & Finish:
A semi-translucent acrylic. It has a matte finish on both sides with a beautiful frosted appearance. Approx 3mm thick.
Engraving:
Engraving will have a frosted appearance, so looks most effective on darker colours where it has the most contrast. Paint filling engraved areas is a touch more difficult and needs to be applied sparingly to avoid bleeding across the matte surface. Paint tends to stick to the matte finish and won’t wipe off if spilled beyond the engraved areas.
Best uses:
Great for earring stands without engraving and for earring dangle pieces. As it’s semi-translucent, anything placed beneath will show through, so don’t use it as a top piece when layering or for earring studs (you’ll see glue and earring pad beneath it).
Tips:
Looks great as an earring dangle when paired with bold coloured shiny, sparkling, mirror or opaque acrylics.

Mirror Acrylic
Characteristics & Finish:
A coloured mirror high gloss finish on one side and a plain grey textured matte finish on the back (just like the back of a standard mirror).
Protective tape on the mirrored side only. With no tape on the grey back, minor marking may occur on the back side. They won’t be seen on the front mirrored side, but should be considered for pieces where the back will be visible.
Mirror acrylic’s reflective appearance directly along the cut edges of pieces can appear slightly frosted due to the cutting process and is a normal characteristic of this type of acrylic.
Sometimes glued-on components, such as earring posts, can leave an impression on the mirror layer and show through to the front. It's a minor and inconsistent issue, so always glue a test piece first, rather than glueing all your pieces at once. Approx 3mm thick.
Engraving:
We engrave the back of the mirror which removes the mirrored effect in those areas. Paint filling is not possible on mirrored acrylic.
Best uses:
An excellent stand out feature piece that looks great paired with solid coloured acrylic in earrings. Ideal for studs or toppers so the grey mirrored backing will not be seen.
Tips:
Don’t use an alcohol based cleaner to wipe mirrored acrylic as it can damage the surface. Clean pieces gently with a microfibre cloth and then place in a bag to protect from dust and scratching. Keep the protective tape on until the end of the earring making process as the mirror finish is susceptible to scratches and marks.

Marble Acrylic
Characteristics & Finish:
They are glossy on both sides but have a back side with less detail than the front. All swirls do not have a pattern and will vary between every piece.
*The laser may leave some grey marking on the edges. The lighter colours such as Baby Pink Marble, Light Blue Marble and White Marble are more commonly effected. This is more apparent when the shape is more detailed.*
Engraving:
Engraves well and can be paint filled.
Best uses:
Can be used as a stud top or dangle. Great for basic shapes so the colours and swirls can be the main feature.
Tips:
Thin engraved lines tend not to stand out as effectively as they would on more plain opaque acrylic colours. Avoid marks, scratches & microfibres by only peeling protective layer off at the end of the earring making process

Translucent Acrylic
Characteristics & Finish:
A transparent acrylic that you can see through.
Engraving
Engraves well and leaves a frosted white finish. Paint filling is possible but will be reflected on the other side.
Best uses:
Great for earring display stands so you can display your earrings with no conflicting colours.
